Industry: Tech forecasting / R&D strategy
Product: AI-driven technology foresight platform for corporate R&D

Role description: AE/ Strategic New Business Development
Targeting: Senior R&D, CTOs, Chief Innovation Officers at Fortune 500
Industry: Broad R&D/Innovation across sectors
Deal size: $90K ARR
Sales cycle: 4–6 months
Role focus: Opening high-level strategic conversations, not full-cycle closing
Leads: No current marketing support; relies heavily on personal network
Sales style: Evangelical, educational; product category is new and with a hard to define ROI
Comparison: More akin to strategic influence or lobbying than classic SaaS selling

Unique about the company:
only company globally offering data-driven future-tech insights for R&D
Sells to a hard-to-reach, unaccustomed audience (scientists, R&D, innovation leaders)

Strong results but clients are reluctant to publicise successes due to strategic sensitivity

Growth perspective:
First BD hire in the US with potential to grow into a leadership role
Significant whitespace and traction (already 40% revenue from US without presence)
High autonomy, report directly to founders
Opportunity to shape market entry strategy

Must haves:
Existing network in Fortune 500 R&D or innovation leadership, VP/SVP level
Excellent networker, ability to open doors with credibility and finesse
High intellect, fast learner – able to grasp and articulate complex technical propositions
Comfortable with ambiguity and evangelical sales cycles
Excited to work in early-stage setup with limited resources

Nice to haves:
Experience in lobbying, consulting or adjacent strategic influence roles
Background in complex/technical enterprise solutions
Prior experience selling into R&D or scientific audiences
