About the role

You will be the first dedicated salesperson this business has ever had in Australia. Not the first person on the ground, and not the first customer — those already exist. The first person whose whole job is winning new ones.

The company is an 18-year-old, bootstrapped construction and infrastructure technology business, 43 people across the UK, Europe, the Middle East and Asia Pacific. Their platform handles quality management, defect and inspection workflows, progress monitoring, BIM and asset lifecycle records, and it runs on major rail, infrastructure and building projects globally for names you would recognise. They rebuilt the entire product from scratch over the last decade rather than stack onto legacy code. Australia is now the CEO's number one expansion priority, ahead of the US.

What you'll own

Net new business across Australia and New Zealand, full cycle from self-sourced outbound through to close, focused on Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne. The core target is Tier 2 and Tier 3 builders, with infrastructure, rail, mining, government and manufacturing all fair game. You report to the GM ANZ/Pacific, a 20-year Lendlease veteran, and you'll deal with the global CEO directly.

Deal sizes are deliberately mixed — $10–15K at the small end, up to a couple of million on multi-year enterprise agreements. The business explicitly wants both, and does not want a pipeline made entirely of 18-month bets.

You sell to project directors, QA/QC and construction managers, and their regional equivalents. The opening pitch is simple: the platform mimics exactly what a builder does today, but digitally, with comms and reporting automated on top. Then the conversation moves to delayed projects, assurance, and what the last completed project cost them in disputes. Implementation is fast — a recent stadium project signed on 21 December, was live on the 23rd and trained on the 27th.

The numbers

Base $100–130K excluding super, with stretch for the right person. Commission is uncapped and structured to reward you for years, not once: 8% of licence revenue in year one, 6% in year two, and 4% in perpetuity for as long as that client stays. Grow an existing account and you earn 8% on the growth plus the trailing rate on the base. Professional services pay 5%. Commission is paid the month after cash lands.

Must-haves

At least two years of professional closing experience — long enough to have had deals get away from you and worked out how to save them.
Construction credibility. You understand construction procurement, project structures, how sign-off actually happens, and the compliance context. It does not need to be field management software; adjacent construction technology works well, provided you bring the fluency and the network.
Multi-stakeholder SaaS sales with a systematic approach to qualification and forecasting. No methodology is mandated, but you need one — winging it is a dealbreaker here.
Resilience. You will be tested on it deliberately during the process.
Based on the Australian east coast. Sydney preferred, Melbourne considered.
Nice-to-haves

An existing network across Australian construction.
Background at a direct or adjacent construction technology business.
Progression from a BDR or SDR seat into closing.
Rail, mining or infrastructure exposure.
Why this one is worth a conversation

Built from scratch with no investor clock, and no two-year private equity horizon — which matters in an industry where clients ask whether you'll still exist when their project finishes. Retention across the business is exceptional, with a lot of ten-year-plus tenures. There's a defined path to Asia Pacific revenue leadership, and a sales coordinator gets hired beneath this role once the motion is proven.
