About the role
Senior Business Development Manager – APAC (Seismic Monitoring / Industrial Data Services)📍 South East Asia (Malaysia, Indonesia or Singapore preferred) | Full-time
Build a region from zero, for a company that's been quietly winning for 40 years.
This is a ground-floor build: a privately-owned global leader in seismic monitoring technology is opening its first-ever Asia Pacific presence for its industrial data services business — and this is the person who builds it.
You'll be identifying the right geographies and industries to focus on, building a network of local partners, landing the first projects, and feeding what you learn on the ground straight back to leadership to shape strategy.
What you'll be selling
Turnkey data services built on precision seismic hardware — used for induced-seismicity monitoring, structural health monitoring, and early-warning systems across Oil & Gas, Mining, Geothermal, Carbon Capture, and Critical Infrastructure.
Your buyers are technical: geophysicists, engineers, and subsurface professionals.
Most of this business is won through consultative, unsolicited proposals — not RFPs.
What the first 12–24 months look like
Map the market and identify priority geographies and verticals
Build and sign a network of local partners to help you open doors and deliver in-region
Start bidding on and landing the first projects
No arbitrary Year 1 revenue target — this year is about proving the market and the model; targets scale from Year 2
A genuine path to building and leading a local team, or joining a larger regional team, if you get the early traction right
What you'll need
Technical background - Real credibility in front of technical buyers
Business Development mentality - you've built a market, territory, or partner network from nothing before, not just managed what someone else started
Technical Consultative Sales
Strong background in Oil & Gas, Mining, Geothermal, or Critical Infrastructure — private industry, not government or academic sales
Comfortable operating with high autonomy and no existing playbook
Nice to have
Formal geoscience, engineering, or earth sciences background
Existing networks in Malaysia and/or Indonesia across the target verticals
Why this is worth a conversation
This is a rare kind of role — genuine ground-floor ownership inside a company that isn't burning venture money to exist. It's backed by four decades of technical credibility and steady, profitable growth, but the pace and autonomy of the role itself feels like a startup. You'll get direct mentorship from senior leadership, including an onboarding trip to meet the team in person, and a real, explicit path to building something bigger if it works.
