About the role

Founding Account Executive — AI Fraud-Prevention Scale-up Sydney CBD (Hybrid — 3 days office / 2 remote)

You've closed enterprise deals before. You know the difference between a stakeholder who nods along and one who's ready to sign. Now imagine doing that with zero red tape, direct access to the founders, and a product that's already landed logos among the big four banks and major telcos — with nobody else on the sales team but you.

Our client builds AI voice and text agents that engage scammers in real time — wasting their time, extracting intelligence, and helping banks, telcos and governments disrupt fraud at the source. Venture-backed, already deployed with Tier-1 enterprise clients globally, and an award-winning name in the local tech scene. A lean, ~16-person team, scaling fast, and this hire is their first dedicated seller. Full company details shared on application.

The role You'll own the full sales funnel — outbound, pipeline, negotiation, close — selling into banks and telcos across APAC. Australia's got real traction already; New Zealand, Singapore and Malaysia are wide open. You'll be pitching CROs, CISOs, Heads of Fraud Ops and COOs on a category they take seriously: fraud losses are existential for these institutions, and you're bringing them the answer. Deals run 6-9 months and land in the six-figure range, with proposals trending upward as our pricing power grows. It's a land-and-expand model — you close, our CS team takes it from there.

What success looks like

First 30 days: ramped on the product and market, inheriting warm pipeline, meeting the founding team and key accounts
First 60 days: running full-cycle deals independently, building your own outbound motion
First 90+ days: multiple deals in late-stage negotiation, contributing to a ~$1M new-business target for your first year (these markers are a suggested framing — confirm exact ramp expectations with the hiring team before publishing)

What you'll bring

6-7+ years in enterprise B2B sales, with a genuine track record closing large new-logo deals (not "enterprise-adjacent")
Confidence running full-cycle deals without an SDR or solutions engineer to lean on
Comfort operating in a fast-moving, still-evolving environment
Financial services or regulated-industry selling experience is a strong plus; fraud, cyber or financial crime domain knowledge is a bonus, not a requirement

Why this role

Base salary $160-170k (stretch available for an exceptional candidate) + 50:50 OTE (~$320-340k on-target) + ESOP
You're the first sales hire — real input into process, pricing conversations, and eventually building the team under you
Direct line to the founders, not layers of management
Genuine category-defining problem: AI, cybersecurity and financial crime, with global relevance

Next step If you've read this far and you're already thinking about how you'd attack the first 90 days — let's talk.
